The Whistler Synopses
This short phrase "I know everything, for I walk at night." Became one of the most famous phrases in radio history. It was the opening to the Whistler radio series. The series first aired on CBS radio on May 16, 1942. Gale Gordon was cast as the Whistler. Wilbur Hatch was the music composer and conductor while J. Donald Wilson was the writer, producer and director. Music composition and the writer would change through the history of the series. Joseph Kearns and Bill Forman would also play the Whistler. The radio series lasted into 1955, a thirteen year run for the series.
